Details

ASP's H&K Red Training Guns are training arms that are safe, visible, tough as iron, and realistic to the touch.

Identical to duty firearms in dimension, feel, control placement, and handling, ASP's Red Gun Series training firearms are lightweight and readily identified as a training weapon. The extreme detail and precision manufacture of these training devices allows their use in weapon retention and holster security drills. The extremely durable reinforced red polymer allows them to withstand the daily abuses of the training environment. ASP Red Guns are ideal for many types of scenario training, including disarming and CQ combat drills. Accurate sizing and precise detail allows their use with regular duty, tactical, and CC holsters; weapon storage systems; and other custom-fit weapon carriers. These guns have no sharp edges to catch on clothing, holsters, or gear. And it’s not just guns. ASP Red Radios and Flashlights are valuable additions to sudden assault training on the firing line, and the flexible ASP Red Knife allows officers to rehearse responses to edged weapon attacks.

Why the Red Gun?
The police firearm is an officer’s most distinctive piece of service equipment. Each year a significant number of law enforcement personnel are shot with their own weapons. Weapon retention training, as well as weapon disarming procedures, are critical law enforcement skills. In addition, police personnel must learn to routinely carry firearms and master the safe handling of weapons under stress. Officers must acquire weapon safety skills for use while moving, when searching, and during room clearance procedures. But all too frequently, law enforcement officers have been killed in a training environment with “unloaded” firearms. Red-handled weapons can be confused with live firearms when held in the hand. Aluminum castings are heavy and cannot be distinguished from stainless weapons at a distance.
